If we do recommend a new water heater installation, we can help you decide between a natural gas, fuel oil, propane, or electric water heater replacement. We can install these types of new water heaters:
- Conventional/Standard Water Heaters - A conventional or standard storage-tank water heater can usually store between 30-60 gallons of hot water in a tank. It dispenses this hot water as you use it and then heats up more using natural gas, fuel oil, propane, or electricity. If you choose a standard water heater you might see up to a 7% reduction in your water heating costs.
- Tankless/On-Demand Water Heaters - A tankless water heater, sometimes called an on-demand water heater, don’t store hot water in a tank. Instead, it heats water as needed when it passes through the unit. Its heat exchanger uses electricity, natural gas, or propane. If you choose a tankless water heater you may see up to a 30% reduction in your water heating costs.
- Hybrid/Electric Heat Pump Water Heaters - If you are set on an electric water heater replacement, you might consider a hybrid water heater. A hybrid water heater uses an electric heat pump to heat water by transferring warm air from outside the unit into the water. If you choose a hybrid water heater, you might see up to a 60% reduction in your water heating costs.
Once we install a new water heater, we recommend that you keep up with regular water heater maintenance. This will extend the lifespan of your new water heater, lower your water heating bills, and save you money over time. Our Advantage Plan can help you schedule routine water heater maintenance that may prevent future problems with your water heater’s operation.
